Elyn Cream, Reduce and Slow the Unwanted Hair 15g

Elyn Cream 15g — Eflornithine 13.9% for Unwanted Facial Hair

Product Overview

Unwanted hair on the upper lip, chin, or area under the jaw can be difficult to manage. Shaving, waxing, plucking, and threading remove the hair you can see, but they do not change how quickly it grows back.

Elyn Cream is designed to help slow that regrowth. It contains eflornithine hydrochloride 13.9%, a topical medicine used to reduce the rate of unwanted facial hair growth (a use most commonly studied in women). It does not remove existing hair, so you can continue your usual hair-removal method while using it.

How Elyn Cream Works

Eflornithine interferes with an enzyme involved in hair growth. With regular use, facial hair may grow back more slowly and become easier to manage.

Improvement may become noticeable within 4 to 8 weeks, although individual results vary and some people need longer. Continued use is generally needed to maintain the effect. After treatment is stopped, hair growth may gradually return toward its previous rate.

Elyn Cream and Vaniqa®

Elyn Cream contains eflornithine hydrochloride 13.9% — the same active ingredient and strength used in Vaniqa®.

Elyn and Vaniqa are separately manufactured products. Their inactive ingredients, complete formulations, manufacturers, packaging, and regulatory status may differ.

Key Information

  • Contains eflornithine hydrochloride 13.9%
  • Helps slow unwanted facial hair growth (most commonly used by women)
  • Intended for affected areas of the face and under the chin
  • Used alongside shaving, waxing, threading, or plucking
  • Supplied in a 15g tube

How to Use Elyn Cream

  1. Remove existing facial hair using your usual method.
  2. Wait at least five minutes.
  3. Make sure the affected skin is clean and completely dry.
  4. Apply a thin layer to the affected areas of the face or under the chin.
  5. Rub in thoroughly until no visible residue remains.
  6. Apply twice daily, leaving at least eight hours between applications.
  7. Do not wash the treated area for at least four hours.
  8. Wash your hands after applying.

Allow the cream to absorb before applying cosmetics or sunscreen. Use only as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. Applying more will not produce faster results.

Safety Information

For external use only. Use only on affected areas of the face and under the chin. Do not apply to broken, abraded, inflamed, or irritated skin. Avoid the eyes, mouth, and inside of the nose. Rinse with water if accidental contact occurs.

Possible side effects include acne, ingrown-hair bumps, stinging, burning, redness, dryness, itching, tingling, rash, follicle irritation, or temporary hair loss. If irritation develops, a healthcare professional may advise temporarily reducing application to once daily. Stop use and seek medical advice if irritation persists, becomes severe, or signs of an allergic reaction occur.

Do not use if you are allergic to eflornithine or another ingredient in the cream. Ask a healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in anyone under 18, or when using other topical medicines on the same area.

If there is no improvement after several months of consistent use, speak with the prescribing healthcare professional rather than continuing indefinitely without review.
