Hair growth depends on rapid cell division within the hair follicle. This process requires a specific enzyme. Eflornithine blocks this enzyme, slowing down the cell growth that transforms follicle cells into visible hairs. The result is hair that grows back more slowly, comes in finer and lighter, and is less noticeable between removal sessions.
Important: These creams do not remove existing hair — you still need to continue shaving, waxing, threading, or plucking. The cream works alongside your removal method to extend the time between sessions and reduce the overall visibility of regrowth.
Remove hair using your preferred method. Wait at least 5 minutes, then apply a thin layer of cream to the treated area. Rub in thoroughly. Apply twice daily, approximately 8 hours apart. Do not wash the treated area for at least 4 hours after application. You may apply sunscreen and cosmetics after the cream has absorbed (about 5 minutes).
Weeks 1–4: The cream is working beneath the surface, but visible changes may not yet be apparent. Keep using your regular removal method.
Weeks 4–8: Most women notice hair growing back more slowly, finer, and lighter. The time between removal sessions starts to increase.
Weeks 8–24: Results become more pronounced. Significantly reduced hair visibility and much longer gaps between removal.
Maintenance: Continue using to maintain results. If you stop, hair growth will gradually return to its previous rate within about 8 weeks.
Q: Does this cream actually remove hair?
A: No. It slows how fast hair grows back, making hair finer and less visible. You still need to remove existing hair with shaving, waxing, threading, etc. Over time, you’ll need to do this much less frequently.
Q: Can I use this on body hair?
A: Eflora Cream is specifically designed and tested for facial hair. Elyn Cream can also be used on the back, chest, arms, and legs. Avoid using on the brow area or genitals as the skin may be too sensitive.
